This question is comparable to asking a builder how much to build a house? The cost will depend on many different factors. First of all, the orthodontist needs to undertake a clinical examination to establish the severity and complexity of the situation. X-rays and moulds of the teeth assist the orthodontist in formulating a treatment plan. Other factors also influence the cost such as the type of appliance – metal braces, clear braces or Invisalign. We will go through these with you at the initial consultation appointment.
Once a customised treatment plan has established, our orthodontist will go through the plan with you. You can ask as many questions as you like! We will also send a report to your general dentist to ensure that they are aware of what is happening with your orthodontic treatment.
One of our smile co-ordinators will then go through the item codes (for health insurance claiming) and billings with you. Patients that belong to health funds with orthodontic cover including BUPA, Medibank, HCF and Health Partners can then submit the treatment plan letter to the insurance claims manager to find out what their rebate will be.
Our clinic offers payment plans thus we do not expect you to pay the whole treatment fee to us upfront. However, upfront payments will receive a discount.
