Why Invisalign?

Invisalign is a great way of straightening teeth. It is a fantastic option for adult patients that do not want the look of metal braces. The aligners are also removable which allows easy brushing and flossing after meal times.

In most cases, attachments are required on some teeth. These attachments are handles which the clear aligners grab onto for certain tooth movements. The attachments are made from tooth coloured resin material that is temporarily bonded to the teeth. These are then removed at the end of treatment.

Compliance is important with Invisalign treatment as they need to be worn 22 out of the 24 hours in a day for it to be effective.

Once active treatment has completed, retainers will be provided to ensure that the teeth do not move. A fixed retainer may be indicated in some cases. The orthodontist will prescribe a retention strategy that is just right for you.
